Much of Day 8 was spent on the road from Kaohsiung to Taichung.

It was late afternoon by the time we reached our hotel and we rested for a while before shopping/dinner at Shin-kong Mitsukoshi Department Store. Shin-kong Mitsukoshi Taichung Store

Dinner was quite sumptuous at the food court in Shin-kong Mitsukoshi Department Store.Dinner, Shin-kong Mitsukoshi Taichung Store

After dinner, we decided to go to Chun Shui Tang for bubble tea. Apparently it is where bubble tea was invented! Located in a very quaint area in Taichung which was quite challenging to reach – think we change a few buses to get there. In my memory, Taichung is not as accessible as Taipei or Kaoshiung…Chun Shui Tang

Nice place. Nice bubble tea. Maybe nicer in the day? πŸ™‚

Last but not least, we ended the day at another night market πŸ˜› Fengjia Night Market. We were supposed to take a bus from town to the night market but we waited so long for it that we shared cab with another couple there. Not sure about how safe it is to do that but we took the risk – a bit of an adventure, I guess πŸ˜› The night market is near the Fengjia university, so there were many young people around. And I found the stuff there cheaper πŸ™‚Fengjia Night Market

And we decided to retire early for the night, feeling tired after the long journey to Taichung and looking forward to our day trip to Sun Moon Lake the next day πŸ™‚
